Help with part Identification......

I apologize if this is not the correct place for these questions, but I got a bunch of parts in totes when I bought my 70 GS 350.
This plastic piece has me baffled, as to where it goes........and what it does. Anyone have a idea?

That shield goes in the rear of the front wheel well where the inner fender meets the frame.

Is there one on both sides? I did get the passenger side inner fender (which was removed from my car) so that makes sense.

Yes, one on each side.
