If you are planning to Race in the FAST Class, Please RSVP with me ASAP. Send your name, address and phone number so I can include you in on this great event. RalphsRapidTransit@hotmail.com

February 16, 2005. I spoke to Hemmings we are 100% all set for Muscle Palooza II.

**PreRegistration Cut Off is- APRIL 1ST 2005**

Hotel- I have reserved a block of 35 rooms for Friday and Saturday, May 27 & 28 at the Comfort Inn & Suites, 99 Miller Road, Castleton, NY 12033 PH: 518-479-3217.

They are held under "Ralphs Rapid Transit FAST". The rates are $89/per night plus tax and includes a deluxe continental breakfast from 6:30am-10am.

The Comfort Inn is approximately 30 minutes from the dragway. Call to reserve and pay for your room ASAP Don't forget you must mention our group or you will not receive the discounted rate. I'm sure you are all aware of this, but I don't like to assume.

Camping- The Drag Strip should allow all self contained motor homes or campers to stay in the pits. The track also owns a mowed field accross the street that allowes free overnight camping for the dirt track.

1.I will send each PreRegistered FAST Racer, 2 event passes and the proper credentials needed to enter the track. Look for these in April.

    2. We will have a designated pit area so the fans will be able to socialize with the friendly FAST racers.

    3. On Saturday afternoon Lunch for the FAST racers organized by Hemmings.

    4. Waived Entry fee to the PRE REGISTERED FAST participants.

    5. We will run a QUICK 8 or ?? depending on how close the times are. Then we add a Consolation ladder for the 1st round losers in the Quick format. They would pair up based on e/t in the 1st round - 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, then the winners of those square off in the consolation final for a prize or just for fun. This way, EVERYBODY in the entire event is guaranteed at least 2 rounds of competition. We will still pair up the rest of the field and have a best two out of three match race shoot out.

    6. Trophies awarded to the quick 8 or ?? and to the winner and runner up.

    7. Trophies awarded to the match race shoot out winners.

    8. Hemmings will organize a raffle for FAST Racers. (My Original Idea was to raffle of a pair of polyglas / wide oval tires or travelers checks. One for possibly $500.00 or two for $250.00 to be raffled at the close of Sundays event).

-Hemmings has said they will come up with a raffle that will be close to this.

-We could even make this more interesting by giving out additional chances to win the Raffle by linking this to round wins.

9.)Track Conditions. Traction compound must be used at the correct dosage, and before the FAST class stages.

Please feel free to E-mail me with any of your questions.....

Ralph, thanks for the invite. I am looking for a spring race as is my brother. Is the Lebonon track in MO?

I would be one of the pure stock guys. No FAST cars in the garage, unless you open it up to include '79 T/A's. :jd:

Pure Stocker will run with FAST. We will run a QUICK 8 or 10 (depending on how close the times are), then we will pair up the rest of the field and have a best two out of three match race shoot out. I am going to be working on the Quick 8/10 Race format. More to come soon.

Just to make sure I'm reading this right??? If I go and race in the F.A.S.T class, then my entry fee is waived, but if I race as a Pure Stocker it is not??? I quess the question is, is there two classes, or just one FAST class that we will all run in???
Also, the quick 8, will it be a 1 runs 5, 2 runs 6, 3 runs 7 for closer racing, or will it be the usual 1 slaughters 8 routine????

I entered as a Pure Stocker, and the e-mail back said I would be racing under FAST rules, so I guess there is only one class if your are on the friends and stocker plan........

So, I am still going to go, and am looking forward to running Greg :)

    Donny:

You and I are in the same boat. It really doesn't matter what they call us as long as it's 2/3 match races. FAST rules do say a ladder for the quick 8 then match races for the balance. I'm sure they'll stick to that.

If I had a quick Pure Stocker, like Pete, JJ, one of the gaggle of Mopars, etc., then I wouldn't mind running with the FAST boys. Don't think you'll see another matchup with a 14.20 car up against a 11.20 car. If so, won't be me. If that ever happens again, I'll take Clary's advice and not even stop at the tree to stage.   Got to at least have some fun doing this. Otherwise why else do it?

Can I use your car? You're on! :TU: :TU: :TU:

Didn't somebody do that (unintentionally) at Stanton last year or the year before? Chevelle?

I organized this FAST Race with Hemmings and the FAST Commitee Members. They agreed to have a quick format and best 2 out of 3 Format. The FAST Commitee Members and myself want to include Pure Stockers. We know many of you have enjoyed racing with FAST as long as best two out of three format is used. We want to have a great turn out for this event. This was why I asked them to waive the entry fee and give us extra perks.

This is a Win Win for both us and Hemmings.

To answer some of your questions-

-There is Only One Class. FAST

-Quick 8 or #? Ladder Based on how close qualifing times are- (with 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc.) Then we add a Consolation ladder for the 1st round loosers in the Quick 8. They would pair up based on et in the 1st round - 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, then the winners of those square off in the consolation final for a prize or just for fun.

-The Rest of the Field- The rest of the FAST Field will be paired up by E/T and they will run a 2 out of 3 match race.

-Any Pure Stock that can get thru FAST Tech is allowed to run. And I am sure that many Pure Stockers should be able to Pass FAST Tech.

-If you have questions regarding FAST TECH. Go to the YR1 FAST web Board.

Hey Ralph, thanks for the update, and don't mind us, we're just having a little fun with Dave having to run Gessler at Commerce last year...........

AH, but Dave DIDN"T run Gessler. Was supposed to, but a serious shortage of lower leg covering DQ'd me. He was sweating it though. I had just put the fear of God (can I say that here?) in Jack Irons in time trials. Treed him, 60 footed him, and but heard this giant sucking sound and watched him fly by me in a yellow blur before the 330 foot mark. Ran my personal best with this engine combination on that run....13.70 something.

Well, that much leg hair IS a fire hazzard

it's the same reason they will not let Casey run without a shirt on his back  .........

I wasn't the only one turned back for too much skin showing at that meet........... There was another in time trials................

I still think I could have slid those spinnaker sized shorts down and run "Clinton" style. The combination of that and my baggy boxer shorts (with the little yellow ducks that I borrowed from Casey) would have covered all the bare spots, but would have hated to try to explain why my pants were down around my knees if I did get caught. Only a Democratic President could get away with that. :bglasses:
