Hey everybody...i am new here, and am a muscle car nut. I just got a free buick 455 from a friend, and i would like to know more about it before i rip it apart and rebuild it. 1) I got a casting number off the back of the block....1241735 followed by a number 4 sideways....can anyone help me decode this??? 2) is there any parts i should make sure to save due to rarity?? (the engine is a basket case as of now, almost everything is rust) any help would be much appreciated...thanks!
1241735 72-75 455 Measure the valve diameters. If you can't fit anything but a dime between the intake and exhaust valves, then you have a set of stage1 heads:Brow:
