    HI,
I just got me a 1972 Buick Skylark with GSX paint in yellow and black:Brow:
It has a 350 engine, a 400 turbo tranny, carter afb carb. ,2200 stall cnvrtr, a four barrel manifold (unkown brand), some kinda perf. ignition, and cap and rotor.
What do you think it should run and what gear ratio do you recommend? i want to run at least 13's now but in tha future i hope for a 455:laugh:
    thank you!!!

If I was to guess what it would run I'd say about 15 sec flat. As for gears, I like my 3.42s but they are a bit noisy if you want to run interstate very much.

I have a fairly stout built 350 in my 70 Skylark now that busted out 14.9's with 3:08's in the rear. I also busted out that time with problems with the points, kickdown, and the secondary didn't open.....im guessing low 14's would not be a problem for my SBB. If I wanted 13's I would have to gear it, with I dont want to do, I love to cruise it alot not race it all the time. Its great doing 75 in the fastlane with the windows rolled up and the A/C cooling the insides, and people lookin at ya with a look like "that has A/C" puzzled look on there faces

Hmmm, sounds like Bill might have a crush on our newest member.....

Ok, I'm just kidding Bill, just razzin ya. Seriosuly SkyV8Chick, i joined this board only a few weeks ago, and I've learned mroe about my buick in that time time than I learned about chevy motors the 4 years i worked/drove for a drag race team dedicated to racing BBC's. These guys are awesome here. I saw in your post on the sniper subject that you say you live down south... whereabouts from? I was born and raised in Florida and lived there until about 3 months back. And I know what most people think, but the central part of florida is VERY country, so theres a good heap of southerner in me. Anyways, welcome to the board, hope you laern more about your car, and get her into the 13's like you hope, although that would be a lot easier with a 455 :)
