I've been checking out these forums for a few days now, because I've found my own "barn car." Well, it's in a field next to a barn. To me, it looks nice enough to be able to save. I'll start a thread for that and see what you guys think. So far, this looks like just the place to come for advice. Thanks!
'64 is right. It's in a field with some 50s Chevys and a Ford Grenada, but the Buick is the only one savable. Here are some pics. There's a small rust hole in the floor on the front passenger side and very little body rust. Engine looks to be complete. Couldn't get the trunk open to check it.
UPDATE!!! I sent a letter to the lady who owns the car, and her husband called me back and gave me the number of his nephew. He said he thinks the nephew wants to sell it. I'm calling tonight. Wish me luck!
Good luck on the purchase, and welcome to the board! Where in Wisconsin? My wife's from Appleton and I used to live near Eau Claire. - Freed
Not to be Mr doom and gloom, but I have the feeling that after you take a real good look underneath, you will find that it is toast. Not to mention that there are virtualy no parts available for that car.
I'd have to agree on that. Just from the pics you posted, I'd expect for at least the floor boards to be gone, along with a good chunk of the firewall. Look it over real close before any $$ changes hands. :TU:
Welcome from Florida. Hunting for non existent parts is 1/2 the fun of owning a car like that. get it as cheap as you can.
I'm trying to find the lowest price I can offer without scaring the guy off. I'm going to see the car again tomorrow then call him back. From what you can see in the pics, what is a good price for it? $500? BTW, thanks for all the replies so far. ---------- Post added at 01:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:49 PM ---------- I live in Sun Prairie right now. Grew up near Green Bay.
