Been lurking for awhile, thought I'd finally jump in My stuff: 1970 Buick Skylark - 455, 4 speed - that I'm building a twin turbo 455 for. and a 1979 Fiat Spider that I'm building for my wife that's powered by a 2006 VVT Cadillac CTS motor with turbos all on a Mustang II suspension.
Pedigree and . . . . "mutt" (Re: near seattle) Hi SuperBuickGuy . . . . . So hey, does that mean you can you leap tallings in a single bound, etc., etc., etc. . . . . Ah yes, very stylish, refined, and with the required Pedigree! I dunno' about this one though. Sure looks like quite a mutt to me! Maybe you shouldn't hang around the pound quite so much!! Seriously, welcome aboard! You'll find all sort of experts who can help with both projects! Cheers, Edouard :beer
Welcome from Alberta Canada! I have a buddy in Wenatchee who is building my Twin Turbocharged 70 Skylark! Have you seen his 70 Skylark on the street? Here are some updated pics of Mark's car.... He is currently building my 70 Skylark which is also twin turbocharged.
nice GSX, did anyone mention to him that someone stole 2 cylinders? as for the mutt, okay so a 1700 lb, 500 hp 2 seat sports car yells insults at the Skylark, however, if it weren't for that car (the wife's car) I'd be left trying to find an excuse as to why I need a 700 hp twin turbo 462 in the Skylark (after all, I need the extra hp to keep up in case something breaks in her car).
Welcome from Granite Falls!! What's your name? Where in Seattle are you located? Sounds like really neat projects!!
I like his build because it helps me decide where I'm going to put the turbos on mine. I'm in Woodinville - ne of Seattle.
Yeah his car is pretty darn cool! Feel free to contact Mark, he fabricates Turbo kits and can build anything you may need if you run into an issue with your build. Here is a kit her built for a Buick 455 in a Camaro, they call it Skymaro! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJJbp8teqaM He is currently building my turbo car... http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?u=12180
I appreciate the hat tip; but, I think I've got the header bit covered I built the headers that are in my Buick now, I built the turbo headers for the turbos in my Spider.... in fact, my first turbo headers were almost 20 years ago on a Mustang :dollar:
Hey Super Buick Guy.. Did you tear that recently acquired 455 apart yet? I'm curious as to what you find.. ;0) Welcome to V8Buick!
yep.... then I get less pissed at it and upgrade.... ou: and what did I find with the 455? water... lots and lots of water. I think someone left a rebuilt motor outside.... no biggie, it still works well for its intended use; and I may rob some parts off it to fix the stuff a machine shop in Monroe did wrong.
