:( dont know how else to explain it. while starting the engine it will turn over and just before it fires it seems to stop everything for a split second and then fires up. runs fine. no driving problems. the only thing i have a problem with are the fuel well plugs. i epoxyed them but during start up the pedal needs to be pumped before it will start. maybe i didnt do such a good job with the epoxy like i thought i did:mad: 72, 350 with ignitor ignition. anyone have any thoughts? brad.

I have the Petronix Ignitor 1 on my engine also. I have the magnetic pickup. I read that with this one you are supose wait a few seconds before cranking for some reason, I forgot. I have no problem with mine as of right now but I am going to chunk it when someone tells me what I need to convert my distributor to a real HEI. Any ideas anyone.:Smarty:

Get ahold of board member " The Ignition Man" Not sure of his name but he builds small body HEI distibutors that are second to none.

Thats my plan, even though my car seems to be running well with the new points distributor.... I'll send him my original for a rebuild (1/8" play in the shaft :error: )

Late at night, sneak into the garage behind the car, jump up and yell BOOOOGABOOOOGGGOOAAAOOBBBOOOOOOO.
that will clear the hiccups. (or talk to the ignition guy)

 yeah, i tried the oooogabooogabooooga thing, along with a few other choice words. the first couple times it happened i thought the engine was seizing up for a split second.
i didnt know about turning the key on for a few seconds before starting, i will try that. thanks, brad.
