Highest lift with stock ROCKER SHAFT?

    What's the highest lift that can be achieved with the stock ROCKER SHAFT.
    updated springs are necessary of course...
    Just wanted to see of how high of a lift cam you guys went max. On this setup

    Go roller rockers if you want durability with high lift cams. Unless you want to do repairs after finding out you shouldn't have run stockers.:(
    The T/A catalog lists recommended rockers for each cam size they offer.

    Thanks for the answer... But I want to know where does stock ends and where is roller recommender.
    Further its not for me since I have a great grind Scott Brown setup... Its for a friend

    My Dad ran the 68-69 rockers for years upon years on "Little Joe" and never busted a single one. His cam was .600 lift and around 260 @.50 duration on both I & E. That engine saw 7k rpm regularly. I currently run them on my car although mine is only .499 lift but has several hundred 10 second passes on them.

    Awesome.. Yea I have a 68-69 rocker assembly too my cam is a bit milder with a 485 lift.

    Once you go past .500 lift at the valve, the stock rockers become less reliable. Having said that, I'm sure lots of guys use them at higher lifts with no problem. I think it is more important that everything else be right, including valve stem heights, push rod length, and lifter preload. Once you move away from stock, you need an adjustable valve train in most cases. Two ways to do that, adjustable push rods and roller rockers.
