    68riviera430 BRRRRAAAAP!

So I go to the local highschool football game to watch my girlfriend cheer...this is also the premier of my 68 rivi to pretty much everyone who goes there...still in primer and nowhere near finished i still get stares from the few who appreciate it and giggles or smirks from those who don't. After the game I go with my girl and a couple friends to this parking lot where a bunch of ricers meet late night to show off there accords and a couple muscle cars meet there. Everyone notices that my car is new and i get some disappointed stares from the ricers there. I park and kinda just hangout for a while and watch people go by with their soda can exhausts. After getting enough of that i decide to leave...and who pulls up next to me? The same kid that i used to go to high school with, and to say the least we didn't like each other (he liked my girl) in his 2000 something v6 mustang...apparently those american racing wheels he has on there give it a lot of horsepower cause he started challenging me with some confident nuetral revvs while looking at my girlfriend in the passenger seat.

I look at him and laugh...boy does that make him mad. He rolls down his window and yells "try not to breakdown before you make it back home. How much did you pay for that piece anyway."
Conveniently were at a red light and its just me and him and a straightaway...
Mind you this is my first time with my car even out on the road and its stock...I was nervous but i wasn't about to let this kid think he was that cool. With my left foot on the brake and my right revving it, my car sounds about 10 times more beastly than his. I take off, getting a way better start than him...he pulls a little bit beside me...then I floored it and i was gone like that :3gears: i felt the whole car grip down to the pavement and next thins i know i was at least 3 car lengths ahead of him.

Next red light i look at him roll down my window and yell "$1500 and i still beat your ass!" hahaha man that felt good. He speeds off on a right turn and dang was I happy. I couldnt help but think how much worse it would have been for him if I actually had done work to my car. But who cares...i won and that definitely impressed my lady

Not too bad for my first night out.

Nice, Same here! I have gray primed one! I beat my friends Geo metro, not really a challenge, didnt even open secondaries! Now it's half primed gray and the front is black! I get those weird stares but the engine makes it all worth it/

hey nice to know I'm not the only rivi fanatic out here! I'm not sure but the goodguys car show in Pleasanton might be coming up in Nov. I'm in the process of getting a 69 rivi gs. Been in a garage all it's life untill these past two years. There's a thread I made around here and I will post new pigs. Great kill!

4 months ago during Senior Cut days, I layed a one legged skid mark (68 rivi with 455) on the school parking lot! Racing my friends honda! No traction just spinning tires! Ha
    Senior year was fun!

We both have peg legged cars!:TU:

I drove a 2002 V6 Ram in high school. I don't think I ever beat anyone. haha Things are different in college with my hemi.

    Good kills!!!

I couldn't afford an old car when I was in high school. I bought my '59 Buick with my graduation money about a month out of high school. Tried to race my friends '64 Galaxie. I got stomped!

    Good Kill!

My son will read these and again insist on driving the Turbo to high school. Like that is ever gonna happen. He says he won't drive the Stage 1 because someone would scratch it on purpose.

I keep teasing him about buying him a Geo Metro of Ford Festiva, he says he'd rather walk or take the bus.

I promised him though I would help him build any car he buys. So he is searching for a 64-67 Skylark/GS, his favorite. I told him he could have one of the 455's in the workshop.

He always asks me pick to him up in the Turbo though after practice.

    Mikey
