Here is a helpful hit for restoring the fuzzys on the inside of the long pot metal chrome piece that the shifter handles stick through. Mine were all trash,so I pulled off the 4 small metal pices the are peened to the pot metal piece. Took off all of the old and cut to fit the latch side(fuzzy) of self adhesive velcro. The velcro sticks like crazy. I epoxyed metal pieces back to the pot metal. From the outside it looks perfecet and should last forever.
I always wondered if a Chevy repro place did not remake those but I have never seen any. That is a good idea you have. I appreciate the benefit of your thoughts on how to addrress the problem of redoing those fuzzies in the horse shoe shifter console slots.
