I got this carb with a rebuilt short block I purchased and was told it was a rebuilt 1050 dominator. Did a little research and the numbers says it can be a 750 or 1050 depending on the booster plate. Is anyone familiar with this carb and how I can check if it has the 1050 booster plate. He said it was rebuilt for the engine I purchased but the carb spacer doesn't look like it belongs to a buick. Its rebuilt and hasn't had any gas in it but I can't confirm the rest. Any info would be appreciated.

measure the venturis at the butterflys. the 750 has a much smaller hole than the 1050. you will find the spec somewhere. holleys site might have it. from the pic it looks like a 1050.

It looks like the measurements for the 750 n 1050 are the same in the venturi's. Is there any other way to check?

According to the book "Super Tuning & Modifying Holley Carburetors" Part # 80186 is a 750 Dominator

The difference between a 750 and 1050 dominator is the booster venturies (the part that discharges the fuel in the middle of the big venturies). The 750's will have about a 1/8" flare ring on the bottom edge of the outside of the boosters, while a 1050 will have straight sided boosters.

This carb started life as a 750, but looks like it has been modified and now has the 1050 style boosters, and so will flow 1050 cfm.

This carb is a 3 circuit carb, which is the best when it comes to dominators: main circuit, idle circuit, and intermidiate circuit. The booster venturies are the annular discharge type (multiple discharge holes) and this is also the prefered type. Should work great, provided your motor needs that big of a carb.

Thats what I was reading too Puddle. Yea it does have the straight side boosters. I went through the main body and metering block and it looks like its a 2 circuit Dominator. The idle-feed restrictors are .037 and the front idle-air bleeds are .072 up front and .074 in back. I was reading an article on car craft about using the 1050 dominators on the street. Do we have anyone in the buick forum that I can send my carb to to dial it in to my build or pay them to tell me what to do?
