I think the four speed Regal would be more respectable if it didn't just break loose when I goose it. Its time to get some street slicks ASAP. I need advice. I wanna street tire that can handle some normal travel as well. Maybe 3K miles a year. I can switch tires for road trips. I'm limited to my 15x7 steel wheels. C'mon guys and gals, tell me what I need cause its time for me to buy!

For the money, i would suggest that your best bet would be to go to BFG drag radial or the new Mickey Thompson ET street radial. We have been running the BFG's on Renee's car with great luck. Just got our new Mickey Thompson's today after waiting for over a month and will be at Quaker very soon to try them out.
Either one should work great for you application.

here is a shot of the new Mickey's

BFG Drag Radials hook fairly well but after a few burnouts and some quick accelerations off the stop lights mine were pretty well done at 3000 miles. On a 12 second GS.

    Thanks Denny!!,

Money is still a concern, so if you don't mind me asking, how much are a pair? And are they available at Summit? That is a great looking tire. Is very soon at Quaker mean you'll be out there tomorrow? The Zelienople PA airport will be having flashlight drags on the 17th of July from 6-10. I went a couple weeks ago and it ROCKED. Totally old school flashlight starts with no times. Pure heads up. I witnesses plenty of friendly trash talking and maybe a little cashola changing hands. Distance was probably nearly a 1/4. Only rules seemed to be DOT tires and you must drive it in. (People still trailered, but unloaded outside the gate. I love grey areas) Anyway, why don't you and the missus come out and send some of those pesky turbo imports packing? There were no Skylarks or GSs there last time. Your Buick community needs you!

    Dan,
We waited 4-5 weeks for this set of M/T's. They were on backorder through Jegs. From what we found out last week, Summit has them in stock, but only in their Nevada store. If you call Summit, they will have them shipped to their Ohio store.
They are currently at the tire place getting balanced and my centerlines mounted, but if the weather is good tomorrow, I'm sure they will see their first 1/4 mile pass. I was just happy to see the FED EX truck stopping in front of my house this afternoon :)

275/60/15 is generally a great size to fit and get bite. But you need to know what size you want for gearing etc. Check out

    www.mickeythompsontires.com/press.html
Look at 11-11-03 and dealer locator.

    Also check out

    www.intercotire.com/html/m-h-racemaster.htm
Look at radial racing. Also a great place to buy M&H is www.mandhtires.com But the last I knew the 275/60 was not ready yet.

    www.nittotire.com/tires_555r.asp
The Nittos bite, do well in the rain, and hold up well for drag radials. Nitto now has the 275/60

I have a set of the Nittos and plan to give the Mickeys or the M&Hs a try.

I have an Olds bud with an '84 H/O that runs on M/T ET Streets 28x10.5. He's been 11.40's on motor 10's on spray with these tires and loves 'em. Work well on the street with proper suspension set up.

Dan, my experience pretty much tracks that of others on this thread. I'm waiting to hear how the new MT's work out, hoping the BFG DR's on my car can go a few more miles. 3000 miles of mixed driving will wear the BFG's out. Subject to the word on the MT's, BFG DR's are as good a compromise as is available. Sure better than any street tire for the track or street racing. But DO NOT drive them in the rain, and don't expect to pop your front wheels off the ground- they don't hook that well. 275 60's are a nice fit, but a little large for 7" wheels. They'll work, but with a little rounding at the edges of the tires.

I've run 2 or 3 brands of street radials, M&H bias street slicks, and am now on my 3rd set of BFG DR's. The BFG's win hands down, but even with 3.31 gears the car will boil 'em. Maybe I should have stayed with a brand that doesn't make as much power, like a chebby or somethin'!! Hope this helps.

Those of you trying out the MT's, please post your results ASAP. Going to need to order tires fairly soon. :3gears:
