Stock bore, forged 10.25:1 pistons, block decked .020, head decked .005, 3 angle valve job with TA oversize valves, TA212 cam, fully balanced, rods polished and shot peened, heads ported, ta intake....

ya it was brush painted with POR 15 brand Exhuast manifold grey for the block, and there "aluminum" color engine paint for the intake and timing cover...

    Wow!!
That sure looks good man, what's the colour of the enginebay?

Which state is CT? Couldn't figure that one out.........
    Connecticut maybe?
    (Hey, I'm Dutch........:) )

    Thank you.

The carb is a old 750 holley. I rebuilt it, and added a quick change jet fuel bowl, quick change secondary spring kit, electric choke... I'm runnung TA performance comp headers, with dual 2 1/2 flowmasters.

As for the color of the motor, I had a thought pop into my head a while ago, a motor would look kinda cool if it was bare metal. Obviously bare metal wound't fly, but with the "Manifold Gray" paint, I could barely tell parts that I painted from bare parts. A more natural metal look....

The engine compartment is just stock black, and will stay that way.

    CT is Connecticut.

I had the basic setup together once, with the following differences: not rebuilt, Factory 8.4:1 pistons, and the heads milled .060 (I started with a fresh set of head this time). It ran like a champ, but my oil pickup got clogged up, so I figured I'd rebuild the whole thing. Hopefully with the better pistons, balancing and new rings and such it will run even stonger.

I can't wait to get this thing back running. Driving a 70HP ford ranger with no power anything can start to drive a guy crazy....
I have the Opel running, but that's about a 16 second car, it's small and kinda fun to drive, but I want my Buick back!!!

Sounds nice, post a picture when the engine is back in the enginebay please?

    ps:
Did you know there's also a stationwagon version of that A-Manta? Not many produced though.

So I finally finished the rebuild and dropped it in. Have about 50 miles on it so far, and no problems. Runs nice and smooth. Has really good power, but I can tell the carb needs some tweaking, expecially on the secondary spring. I should have some G-tech 0-60 results in the next couple of days, once I get it back from my buddy.
And pics will be coming to!
