So I found the extra pieces of the repro hood insulation I bought last year. I have way too much stuff but I digress... I want to use these extra pieces to cut out a new center piece with the correct diameter center hole. Does anyone know what the correct size is? Any suggestions on getting the hole centered?
From ToddGS. Installation Tip: For anyone that is doing a Concours restoration and wants everything correct you will want to use one of the "Extra" Big Pcs and trace out the Center Section so you can use it rather than the one that's included. The one that's included has to big of a hole in the center for our cars. Once you have the new center section cut out of the extra piece you can use anything that has a 4" in hole in it and trace (Cut) it out with a sharp razor blade. That will give you the correct CENTER section with the correct size hole.
Jason, If you try to cut one out with a razor knife it will never look uniform. If you send me one of your “extra” large pieces I will cut you a new center with the correct”smaller” size hole. I thought I offered to do this for you before. Duane
I'll put it in a box and send it out. Plus I still owe you those photocopies of all the Sloan GSX stuff...this week.
Dano, I don’t know. Every time I open this door it turns into an avalanche, with people wanting both 70-72 sets, and now 69 GS sets with the thicker centers. It takes over the house and I itch for at least a week. I’ll see. Duane
Big green bean can with the edge sharpened with a grinder,..,..piece of exhaust pipe,...etc ton tap it with hammer
I did mine tonight and used a cap my wife had on a candle. Now I won’t complain about all the candles since they are good for something
So, I just received my insulation from Todd and I have to ask. Whether it's a 4 inch hole or the larger, incorrect one, why is there a hole there in the first place? And do we leave the hole piece in or remove it? I've always wondered about this.
