Hood Insulation

Purchasing the hood insulation for 1968 Buick GS California is yellow the correct color ? yellow and gray are the options Thanks Ricky

 

the set I bought a few years ago was yellow one side, gray the other side. I don't think yellow showing would be correct.

 

I thought that also but the CarsInc has it as yellow is correct

the insulation is yellow with a gray layer covering on one side. purchased it from duane.

 

Yes, yellow material is right, but gray side is what is visible when installed.

Huh...all this time I thought the gray was just oil-soaked yellow fiberglass.

For the 68 & 69 Guys,
You can buy the 7 piece yellow/gray hood insulation kit from anyone. They come with the correct size "big" hole in the center piece. You throw away the pieces you don't need and you're set.


The problem is with the 70-72 guys.
The hole in the center piece is much smaller and I am the only one that cuts them that way. So if you are building a nice 70-72 car and care about being correct, then I am the only game in town.

That's because the site crashed and THEY lost everything.

I have none in stock and won't have any till late Feb. I would have to see about shipping cost, and I only take checks/money orders.
