This old pair I have have the flange cut for the dipstick and the new pair I got from Jegs do not. Just wondering if they are supposed to come cut like my old ones or did the previous owner have to do it himself??? Thanks Pete
The previous owner cut the headers...I have the same headers on my car and the flange is 1 piece....HTHYO :TU:
I was going to get ta headers but I needed the headers in a hurry. My credit card was maxed out and ta doesnt accept debit cards so I had to pay the extra $$$ for the hookers from jegs. Pete
I have them on mine, and that "Ting" you call it isn't all that loud at all o No: ....BUT on my Trans Am....you really can hear them...sounds like a valve tap when doing 80 near a concrete median  :Brow:
erm. you shouldn't have to cut the head flange...there's a noth in the head between cylinders 5 and 7 for it the dipstick tube.
I had no idea you could use hookers on a V8 Buick? I thought they were limited to the V6 only. Of course you need two hookers but most only have 3 viable holes for porting??? Matt uzzled:
David is right. I would not cut the head off. [boy what a mess] I am not sure what he mean's by "between cylinders 5 and 7" but I know where the dipstick tube is.:Brow: :Brow: Matt uzzled:
there's an indention in the head where the tube sits. just make sure the tube gets pushed in there correctly when you're putting the headers on and there shouldn't be a problem. btw: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=HOK-1103
