Does anybody know a good way to remove the white letters on the side wall of these tires? Also, w/o using rim screws is there a good way to keep the tire from spinning on the rim? Thanks guys,
Jim I uesd regular old paint thinner and plenty of elbow grease....I was assured by Jim at Harlow Tire that this would not hurt the tire......He was right,They have been fine.I just go nuts with the Armorall on occasion. I run a 10.5 x 30 Goodyear slick on my car and at 3420 lbs going low 1.3x 60 ft's I haven't had my tires slip on the rims. I use a coat of 3M weatherstrip adhesive on the bead. When you change tires I've found that gasket remover in the spray on cans does a nice job of breaking down the adhesive to give you a clean as new rim to work with.
Gary, Thanks for the info. I will put the elbow grease to work this weekend. Do you think I would need to break down the tires to apply the 3M stuff or can I just deflate them, add the adhesive and air them back up? Regards,
Nice trick Gary! But too late for me.. But my nice rims have 16 holes drilled in them, 8 per side! ou: But it looks cool
I think with a heavier car there is a power level that once you get to it your car might benefit from tubes or a tire with a ''stiff'' sidewall. But with what we're doing here,I think the beenfit is in the reduced rotating weight (No tubes).
