YUCKO From the big holes in the door panels, to the "Skylark Custom" emblems, to the "GS 400" air cleaner... Did I mention the seats? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to be at any car show this thing gets entered in. $10,000 opening bid with a reserve even! Why even bother paying the listing fee?
did you notice the his feedback on ebay -1 . makes you want to go out and buy this way overpriced car doesn't it.
I love that it says "needs little work to be show quality." Did you see the front bumper and broken grill????? Its a skylark with a 68-9 console and shifter too!!
The console appears to have been "treated" to the same fabric as the seats. How about that alarm siren! He probably paid more for that steering wheel than I just paid for my rebuilt 1973 455. My eyes are killing me!
Wow, tough crowd. From your descriptions, I was expecting to see something worthy of "cars n barns" when I clicked the link. While I don't care for the styling of the interior, and there's plenty thats not "correct", and the steering wheel is fugly.... I wouldn't say it's a complete POS. o No: Definately not worth anywhere near $10K though ou:
Yeah, its not that bad. But that interior. This is the kind of car I see cruising in the summer or at the local shows. Looks OK if you are not tuned in to Buicks, The Tuned Car.
Pardon me for saying so but this is starting to sound like a Corvette crowd. Everything gotta be perfect and original. Custom interior and steering wheel? A wrong decal? No way! Live and let live. Tolerence for the "other" guys, whatever that means at the time. That's what's made this board great. I hope we don't ever get a reputation for being snobby, even though a lot of us are "focused". Peace to all.
his feedback Did anyone read his -1 feedback? Shipped wrong product and wouldn't make right. Maybe someone could get lucky and he'd accidently ship you a SS Chevelle convertible after the auction ended! I agree with some of the other comments though, so what if there are a "few" things wrong. If priced correctly it's still a Buick convertible. To each their own, how many have forgotten the old saying "If you can't say something nice...." I better go make everything "correct" on my GS before I bring it to Salem. I wouldn't want to walk out into the parking lot and find a group of you ripping it apart!
Aw, come on guys! That is the hottest thing going these days. It is a cross between Monster Garage/Rides/Overhauling/West Coast Customs!:Brow: Now, if I can just fit some 20" rims on it, it will be stylin! It will have to be the awful gaudy ones with the spinning caps so it looks like your tires are turning when at a light! No, let me see if I can go dig out my "Huggy Bear" costume from the 70's and my big purple furry hat with the long ostrich feather in it!:eek2: Shoot, have to find those platform shoes too!ou:
Don't worry guys, it could be worse:    '70 Skylark on Auto Trader Wow. uzzled: George, is this not exactly what you had in mind?
Chris, you're right! It can ALWAYS be worse. While the 'vert is ugly to me, it appears to have lots of work and money into it. I'll at least give it that. I'm sure that the convertible will appeal to someone. Somewhere. Just not me. I still think it's a horrible "custom". OK Ken, here's something nice. "I love that color!" At least it looks like a nice straight body also. John ~~edited for spelling
Mike, that is exactly what I was trying to say earlier with my original post. You said it much better than I did. :TU:
Seller's Representations Yeah, every car doesn't need to be perfect, but look at how this guy is representing the car..."needs very little to make show quality". Come on.. he opens himself up to comment/criticism with that little representation.
