For those of us who couldn't make it, how about a listing of who won awards at the races and in the show? Pictures would be great too!
I think all 4 cars in this photo (taken at the Red Roof) had either won or placed in their class. I got runner-up with my '68 GS (the first in line in the photo).
68-69 GS Open (Convertible) - Modified Alan Wander - First place Alan Wander - Second place Alan Wander - Third Place I only got one trophy though..... o No: ou: Im not complaining at all....Im sure next year I'll have company BTW - ROBERTA ????? Where was your car ?!?!?!?!?
That's my car next to Mikes. I took first in 68/69 open. Next is my brothers 71 (2nd place). I can't remember the owners name of the GSX but he won that class. Hey Mike and Alan. It was nice to meet you guys and put a face with a board name. I met alot of great people over the weekend and I'm already looking forward to next year.
Riviera Class Winner- a beautiful gold '65 Riv GS, I can not remeber the owners name and dont think he is a board member. Runner Up- Greg Davis
Some chick with a smilefrom ear to ear, walking slightly above the ground.... I wonder who she is?? ShariB
Beth, cool picture. Thanks for posting it. Any chance you could e-mail it to me at Buickwagon@aol.com. Thanks. I'd have to agree with Shari - you had the biggest smile I've ever seen - especially after that impromptu burnout in the pit area. Ssshhh! Don't tell Jim - he's already upset with you about it. I mentioned it to one person in the show area and he told me he could see the smoke from the staging lanes. Seriously, it was great to finally meet you and Dana and see DA WAGON in person. You guys are awesome and the car is very cool. I especially liked when we lined up Saturday night for Alan's grudge match (he still hasn't bought either of us any beer) - maybe this is the beginning of a friendly rivalry - kind of along the lines of Hecker/Zerucha. With the emphasis on "friendly" of course. I'm already planning on coming next year so you had better be there too! I suppose I couldn't convince you to make the trek to Cecil County, MD for our Buick event, East Coast style??? As always, it promises to be a great time. Thanks to all for an awesome time!! Paul
Look for an email Paul. Yes this is definitely the start to a friendly rivalry, but I can't let you kick my butt all the time (car show, race) :beer . Don't think we can pull off Cecil, but wait till next year. We will be there for sure. You know, I must say after we pulled it off the trailer I was going for a little ride & the 1st person I see is you, how weird & funny is that :Brow:  I need more practice to beat "Mr. Consistant" :moonu:  Take care, Beth
I believe winner in the Riv class was Gary Hollack of Stuebanville,Ohio man that is a beauty!! We will post a complete list of all winners, very soon, Brad needs some "down" time to recoup and will post asap. Congrats to all, as everyone that attended the event is a winner in my opinion! Bruce
70-72 gs modified my 72 stage 1 took 1st place in the 70-72 modified class. got to love it thanx everyone later hopson:grin: :beer
Well actually, I don't have the list...Duane does. Somehow I ended up with his box of stuff and he with mine. I've kinda had a little scare there when I couldn't find the list of show winners. Duane was doing the same thing over all of his books and records...ou: He'll post them in a day or two....
