Well its almost time to put my drivetrain together and I want to make sure I get the right clutchkit. I bought a Steel Flywheel from someone a long time ago and need to figure out what size clutch I need to buy that will fit it. Does anyone know what the correct way to measure the flywheel is? With a tape measure the clutch surface face measures bigger than 11" across. Since I converted the car over to manual I have no old set-up to go off of. Kinda stumped ...how do I do this? o No:
a lot of flywheels are drilled for both 10.5" and 11". 6 bolts attach the pressure plate to the flywheel.
My guess is if it's a Pontiac, it's 10.5". If your flywheel is just over 11", the bigger clutch may not fit. Does it have 2 sets of pressure plate holes?
Don't have it in front of me at the moment but it has more holes than my stock chevy Flywheel. Seems like there in two different size bolt circles.
