How do i wire factory tach to my 72 GS?

    I have factory used tach.I want to know is wiring already in the dash .How too wire tach properly.Thanks John:)

    If the car had a tach originally, maybe the wire is there. The original wire is brown. If not, there is only one connection, besides the light sockets. The single wire goes to the - side of the coil (points), or the tach terminal on an HEI, or the tach output on an MSD box. Run your own wire. For the lighting, just tee into one of the other lighting wires(gray)

    My 72 had the clock option.I see a pink wire taped too the harness.I was hoping the the wiring was already there.One wire runs to power and other to - terminal on ciol.On back of tach there is no wires just a male terminal and other side is just a nut.Is side with male terminal power side?

    There is no power side. Simply connect a wire to the male terminal of the tach and connect the other end to the - side of the coil. You can run a separate ground wire from any metal portion of the tach.
