Actually, another way to support this BB, is to buy V8 Buick merchandise. JW and Rick make garage clocks with pictures of Buicks on them. Seems to me with the holiday season coming up, they would make great gifts. There doesn't seem to be much interest in the latest clock featuring a burnout shot of my car I'm kind of surprised actually, I think it looks great. Check it out under the V8 Merchandise Forum.
I bought a clock but I don't think that qualifies as supporting the board. o No: I don't see my name on the list, so that's why I say that. In any case, I'm waiting for a paypal transfer from my bank acct. so I can contribute. The one thing I have not seen mentioned on here which I think deserves mentioning, is that people who have not contributed much or not at all, monetarily, may have contributed a GREAT deal in other ways, such as with knowledge and information unobtainable anywhere else on the planet. This benefits others more than it benefits themselves. While it doesn't pay the bills, I think it still deserves mentioning. :Smarty:
I just threw a little into the pot... wish I had a perminant job lined up... I know I'm getting the axe the 26th of november... happy thanksgiving. nate
Its not a big thing, but here is my attempt. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29925 :beer
I will donate a bumper decal "If you cant drive a buick why go at all" to the next 5 people that CC (CARBON COPY) me a copy of the PAYPAL payment receipt to the V8 board for any amount of $25 or above but the date of the donation has to be from weds 8am 11- 05 - 2003 on............ send it to mike@mrbuick.com (I will delete it after I read it dont worry)I just want verification!!
Keeping this at the top! I think the list is a little out of date, I made a contribution again this year but I don't see my name on the list. Jim's been busy with the new shop from the looks of it!
Money contribution, also try to help out others where possible and where I have some idea of what I am talking about!ou: Have been playing with these cars since 1986 now, and still learn lots here. Great people too. I would be lost without this board....but I look at the contribution list and man is it small compared to the number of users! Hopefully that will change, more contributions can only make things better as the group expands, needs more computing power, etc. If every user on this list donated 20.00 we could make parts we needed and pay for the site too!!! later Tim
HEY I STILL HAVE 4 DECALS TO SEND OUT> Whats this board worth to you !!! I see it as a home away from home so lets get this moving again!!!
How I contribute... Not bragging here, folks, just some insight as to how I contribute - For every dash kit I sell to someone on this board or who mentions this board, $10 goes to JW. I figure that it's worth it since I am profiting off the exposure and visibility my kits get on this site. Being in the biz, so-to-speak, I don't mind paying for advertising. To date, I think YOU ALL have donated roughly $500 by buying my kits. Not too shabby! I win, you win & the board wins. Think about it. If everyone who sold stuff on this board did the same thing that ebay does (a small percentage of total sale), just think about how much money could go to support the site. What's a buck or two off the top? Add it all up, and we're talking some serious jack. Other ideas?
I found this site about a week ago. Just took it for granted till I started reading everything on here. I read about the clocks supporting the site so decided to send a check. I am just starting my project so I will be here alot and just thought it was the right thing to do. John
