I am thinking the Free Spirit package was sent out to get installed, so did GM do that for other T Top installs or were they dealer installed. I have parted 3 or4 75/6 non Free Spirit, that had T Top and they did not look factory installed.

Good question, weren’t the Century/ Regal S/R’s T top cars??

Thanks for the info. So if I am reading this correct, the H/H T Tops were installed at the GM factory, and then the Pace Cars were farmed out for the other parts?

The Hurst/Hatch cars were sent to Hurst for install. Same as the 75 Pacecars

Hurst used Demmer’s facility in Lansing to build Hurst Olds cars in ‘68; maybe they used them for the tops in the ‘70s. Hurst Hatches were available on Norwood OH built Firebirds from ‘76 until around March of ‘78 and the Pontiac people say they were not done in the factory; the cars were shipped out and back, but don’t say where, maybe a borrowed or rented local facility? I don’t know if Van Nuys built cars were available with Hurst Hatches or not; some say ‘no’. Fisher started supplying tops (bigger and nicer) to both F body plants in mid ‘78 for factory installation.
All that info about F bodies makes me think Hurst set up near assembly plants and shuttled cars in and out for conversion.

As far as I know that the only cars with the t tops in 75. Where the Century Pace car. The Hurst/Olds cutlass and the corvette. Not sure about 76 though.
