How to destroy a Buick Electra. ou: Pictures are borrowed from a Czech website, I think the Buick is from Switzerland. It looks like he has used my mothers curtains to cover the roof.
That's not destroying a car, that's giving your ride a little personal touch (to stand out from the VolksWagons....) This guy loves Gothic style and he loves Buicks ! I met him on several meetings in Europe, so unlike most American car owners in this part of the world : He's not afraid to drive a few 1000 KM's Will you be in Switzerland on August 13th to attend the meeting of the Buick Club of Switzerland ? If he drives up North, what's your excuse for not coming down to CH ? First time I met him was at the Zuchwil, Switzerland meeting, last year May. But my camera was in the boot of my Buick, so no photos from that time. Last July I met him at a meeting in Luxembourg, where he told me he was on his way to the Power Big Meet in Sweden. Click thu.......(you know the drill) :Comp: Later that year he showed up at a meeting in Recklinghausen, Germany: He's a very friendly bloke, always in for a good laugh. I was surprised to find out that he's a gardener (no crows in that garden !! or maybe......... ) Before the Electra he owned a Riviera:
Erik, Next time you see it, could you take a closer shot at the speedo for me? (maybe you could move some of the "hair" that hides it!). It looks like it's graduated in KPH (is it?). Do you know if this Electra was sold new in Europe?
Yes, It was built at the GM factory in Bienne (French name) / Biel (German name) in Switzerland (CH). Speedo is in KPH. This May I'm going down to CH again, together with board members BaCo, 75Riv and Riv71, to attend the big meeting at Zuchwil. I will take a few speedometer shots for you, no doubt the Electra will show up there :TU:
I have seen some of these pics before. His combo of special effects accessories sets the recored for being well ...so unanticpated.
In this thread I reckon :TU: When I met him at the Recklinghausen, Germany meeting, he just bought this bunch of camels at the swapmeet. He placed them on the roof of the Electra, was examining them thoroughly for about 5 minutes, and finally nodded his head. I think that he came to the conclusion that the camels were "Electra-proof"....    Great guy, not main-stream and boring at all :TU:
I don't know how much he likes his KPH speedo but if he's interested in an exchange (+ some $) , a MPH speedo for him...
I just looked at the Zuchwil link and there seem to be a high concentration of Buicks there... The other 75 Electra looks nice! It also lacks seat belts.
I'm not surprised about the high concentration of Buicks photos in that link.... knowing the photographer
I don't know about that! I might rather see it in a derby than in the situation it's in now. Glad it is overseas for Erik to have to look at.
This is how we do it in the Netherlands...........  This '73 Electra came in today for parting out.
I'll let you know in a bit, Per. First we have to figure out what's the front and what's the rear on this aerodynamic model  Maybe you will get a free forklift with it, it's stucked inside the car at the moment. Easy for building your own lowrider :TU:
No poking fun at the '73 Electras Erik! :spank: Does that have any good parts for you guys over there? o No:
Attention please I think this can be summed up with one quote from the Woodstock album. "Stay away from the brown ACID!"
