I've read good things about the ET Streets, I haven't seen much on the Nitto's but would love some feedback on which is better..The M&H drags look really cool but I think they are the most expensive of the bunch. I know the ET's are real close in price to the BFG's. I don't want to hook so hard that I'm busting stuff but I'd like to get under a 2 second 60 ft time :3gears:

    4-Speed

I've owned only automatics in the past (no longer :3gears: ) and they are better for racing but for the street and fun of driving a torque monster (455) :Brow: 4-Speed is the way to go.

'71buickg.s. a dark and stormy night..

did you do the medium sized burnout with the bfg's then let them cure for 24 hours like youre supposed to? If you dont do that ive heard they can actually get greasy and hook worse than radials

    Hooked!

My car really hooked on Saturday, I mean REALLY HOOKED as in breaking the 12 bolt to peices. I'm wishing I spun the tires! So be careful of what you ask for!

Yeah a posi that's up top the task will really help but I was roasting both and there's about about 30 feet of dual stripes and another 30 or 40 feet of a single stripe laid down on the brand new asphalt close to my place to show for it. I'm not saying there is a posi in there as I've never opened it up, and it's very dirty so I've never been able to get any codes or numbers off of it. I do need a good posi but I still think it will overpower these tires. Fun when you want to do burnouts but not very fast at the track.

The open diff is causing the majority of your problems. Sticky tires help with traction but these cars suffer from serious wheel hop. Install good buhings and boxed arms and the wheel hop will be greatly reduced. It can even be done yourself if you have a welder. Even my small block 4 speed has bad wheel hop if I launch it too hard.

The open diff is a problem but I've never had wheel hop on this car ever. It lays them down smooth and straight and screams while doing it. Last night it smoked both through first gear then when I hit second blew the right rear away, I got off of it when I bounced off the rev limiter at 6000 RPM. I've had other cars that did it bad but never this car. I hope I don't do a bunch of upgrades and end up with wheel hop :Dou:

yeah, I don't want a race car, but I was hoping that it would get after it a little better once I get into second. If my driveshaft loop makes it this week I'll take it to the friday night drags this Friday to see what the clock says, and pick on some fords and chebys! :3gears:

    mjoe7 In the beginning God...

    What I did.

I had 255/60R15 tires, 4:10 posi, 12 Bolt rear, and air shocks in my car and was smoke'n the tires real easy with an automatic all the way through second gear.
I know added a Hotchkis rear sway bar and lower control arms, and even put more power into my engine with upgrages like cam and so on and now hook up real well with even more power on demand. The sway bar really made a difference. Just an idea. The Posi is a Must in your situation.
