Hi guys, I need help &/or trade secrets on how to attack & remove the upper control arm bushings from my '68 Riv. I've got an old NHRA guy w/ manual & hydraulic presses at my disposal, but his needlegun w/ chisel attachment only bends the lip of the bushing up or cuts through it. The arms are out of the car & we ground through the welds & pressed out the ball joint, but no luck w/ the bushings no far. No air chisel at my disposal, either. Any bright ideas out there? Thanks!
hi Kristy! i had some pressed in once at my local NAPA, they charged me $30 to do upper and lower bushings
machine shop Hi Jeff! I called the guy that did the machine work on my motor last summer, & he can do the upper bushings for $10 a pop. Totally worth the trouble it saves...everything else we have under control! Thanks!
I drilled out the rubber on mine then worked at them with a hammer and a chisel. It took hours!. I'd pay someone next time!
