    under coating

Well how are things in Bossier? I was born in Sport. Have several relatives living there. :pp
The best Practical way that I have found to remove undercoating is with a heat gun. when you heat it up till it bubbles, it will scrape right off with a good scraper. Be carefull and wear welding gloves and dont get right under it because if you get the hot undercoating on your skin IT WILL STICK AND KEEP ON BURNING. I have some scars to prove this point. :Smarty:
Then you can just wipe down the area with some solvent for the final clean up before painting.
I removed the undercoating from the entire under side of my 65 lark this way. Weighed it up as I took it off. I t reduced the weight of the vehicle approx. 200 lb. Lighter is faster.
Between removing the undercoating and the sound deadner under the carpets the car is a good 300 lb lighter.
A 100 lb. reduction in weight will give a 1/10 of a second and a 10th is several car lengths on the drag strip.
Reducing the wt. is cheap horse power and it doesnt go away. This is the way the Mopars got so fast during the 60s , They had no frames and were faster because of the reduced weight. :Smarty:
