how to replace rear shocks

    im planning on replaceing my rear shocks tomorrow was wandering if anyone could help me out on do's and dont's. i have a 85 regal. i have a good idea of wat to do correct me if im wrong, but jack the whole car up then take a second jack under axle jack it but compress spring slightly remove shock apply new one release pressure. sounds simple but got a feeling theres more to it than that anymore advice would be nice thanks

    You can change them with the car on stands, or a lift(Whatever you have access to). The weight of the car will keep the springs compressed, if you have the jack stands under the axle. The only inherent danger is the car falling on you, the spring isn't going to try to escape like it would when removing the front lower control arms. Pre-soak all nuts and bolts with the penetrating oil of your choice a day or so before you get started, it helps!

    While you under there, check out the rubber sections of fuel line that link the tank to the hard lines that run along the frame, they are located over the rearend, between where you have to undo the bolts holding on the upper end of the shocks. Make sure they are not all dry and cracked. Check tthe rubber brake line that connects to the rearend too, I mean you are already there.
