I have a 2" rubber valve cover plug I found a local wreaking yard that is stiff. I would like to remove it without causing it to crack anymore. Is there a way to soften the rubber a bit? for example, soaking it in mineral oil? Thank you,
Not sure what the equivalent is, but, your local print shop should have a product called Rubber Rejuvenator. It's used on the rubber rollers to keep from hardening. Armor All may work just as well.
I think you're referring to FEDRON. The mining companys used this to keep their big 'ol rubber rollers from deteriorating. I just thought about that and I have some of this stuff here at work and I'll give that a try. Thanks for the tips!! The rubber parts I need reconditioned are not available at CARS unfortunately Thank you
