Just picked up a 71 Skylark 350-2 that runs good and doesn't smoke, but has a slight lifter tick.

What can I check / adjust to make it go away? Are the valvetrains adjustable?

    Thanks, Chris

Do you have an oil pressure guage hooked up to it? If not it is a Must for any Buick 350/455.

You may have a bad lifter.

what they said, plus make sure your oil is clean and you're using a decent filter.

and make sure it's definately coming from the lifter valley (not an exhaust tick).

    Thanks for the input guys!

No oil pressure gauge yet, that is on the list, as well as an oil change. I am hoping that the oil change makes a difference, the oil in it doesn't look good!
