I have a 65 Riv and when i took the back rear glass out i found some holes in the channel that the window sits in. i want to repair them myself, but i have a few questions.

    1. Is there supposed to be a drain hole in the bottom corners so that water doesn't accumulate and rust through the channel? It seems like without a drain water would stay in the bottom corners and eventually rust through. If there is a drain whole does anyone have any pics?

    2. Is welding in sheetmetal pieces to cover the big areas rusted through the channel and just welding over/grinding smooth the small areas an OK plan?

    3. On a separate note is welding over the body trim holes the way to go if I want a smooth look. It seems better than filler only.

    1. No, GM didn't put any. You can however put some. Weld in a piece of tubing and then put a rubber hose going down and out the bottom of the quarters. I did this on my brothers 64 Riv and it worked like a charm.

    2. Yes, but cleaning up the rust where there are no holes is equally important.

    3. Yes, filling holes alone is not a good idea.
