I just got chills when I found this site.
I have a 1965 Buick Skylark Coupe. It's red with a white top. I have the 310 Wildcat, behind that sits my broken 2 speed ST300.
It's been in the family since I was born ans it has been mine since I turned 16. My whole life I absolutely loved this car. IMO it is the more classy looking of the A bodies. If I have that correct.(A body?)
I have done a few things to her. Some smart and some not so smart. Started out with paint, rims and a GT grant streering wheel. I replaced the entire wiring harness with a great OEM exact duplicate. I did mess up and put a Holley carb on it. Still a 2 barrel but too large. I think I can work with it but the linkage for the stator has never worked right since the new carb. I have had problems all along with people not knowing how to proprly work on it. So my tranny was toast after less than 3000K miles. I fixed what caused it but the clutches are toast. So I am going to search for that in a minute. Rust is a big problem so it is residing in my parents garage for out of the weather protection.
Enough about me. I see you have sub forums on how to tune my 310 for more HP. Can't wait. I love the buick Muscle cars. So underrated, but IMNSHO one of the best of any of the muscle cars. Just watched a show on SPEED channel and the GS took 3rd place on the test to determine the best muscle car. What else can I say? I love my car and will keep it my entire life.

OMG I am in awe, pure awe of the quality of cars here.
Forgot to mention my flowmaster exhaust. Sounds very nice. Even though the car is slow.

Welcome! and I called you Sumners since you didn't post your name. I 2 like the 64 & 65 cars. I think you are in Texas but I don't know where but there is a member/vendor that does tranny's in El Paso TX. (Jim Burek). I think he can help you out with the tranny. He used to race a 64 but is now putting together a 62 or 63.

Do a search for user buick535 and you can pm or email him.
Again welcome and this place is great.

Thanks first. I am in need of just the parts. I can tear down and rebuild an auto tranny. It was rebuilt twice before. Once 12 years ago, then again done bad and didn't last long at all. So it has been sitting for around a year now. I am tired of it doing so. So I need a good rebuild kit. I am in Lufkin Texas about 2 weeks from now. One problem I have is that this tranny came out of my parts car. Which had A/C. My old tranny had a cracked case because of bad motor mounts. And that guy trashed my spare parts. I was pissed. What part is different. The governor? Throttle valve? Stator? I have some work to be done, eh?
If my avatar is confusing here is why. I don't have any pics of my Buick on this pc. But my avatar is my 2002 VW Golf 1.8t. Very quick car for a 4 cylinder.

    BTW my name is Allen
