just wondering which one does its job better

    ta no hop bar
    hrparts rear sway bar
    or combination of both?

I have both, have used TA NO HOPBAR for 3 years and then replaced the rearswaybar with HRP PARTS 'N STUFF one.

Car goes straight no flexing etc.

I have problems getting grip now with my new engine trans combo, but that is a wrong dragradial slick tire choice and a posiunit that was giving up.
We will see next year with new stuff what this setup does.

    They do different things.

Yes, one changes the IC, instant center and the other "ties the car down" to reduce the negative effects of torque on the chassis, i.e. it makes the car drivable.:TU:

Yes, the No Hop Bars change the instant center. This causes the chassis to drive the rear end downward, and lift the front end up thus concentrating the weight of the vehicle on the rear tires. The stock set up does the opposite, it tries to draw the rear end and body together, which reduces traction.

The HR bar equalizes traction to both rear tires and resists the tendency of the chassis to twist from the engine torque. I've seen this bar straighten the launch on 9 and 10 second cars. You don't need air bags with this bar installed.

hey do you think these would stiffen up the back end from bouncing going over bumps..as i'd like to run some 325-50 with gas shocks to ditch the air shocks

what i figured guess i'll either stick with the stock air shocks are deal with the occasional rubs over bad bumps/pot holes.

Looks like i'll just be going with the ta no hop bars till i have enough cash to add the hrparts HR-1907 pro race package

If you are rubbing, you have the wrong wheels/tires on the car. The right way is to put the correct wheels with proper B.S. and use tires that fit. Stiffening up the suspension just destroys the ride qualities of the car.

oh, i was just following a thread a while back about fitting a 325-50-15 tire on a 15x10 rim with 5-5/8 bs and it looked bad ass...i may go with a bit more b/s to try and counter the rare rubbing on a bumpy road..

    but last question for you..
since oyu have both these which ta rearend girdle do you have...regular or low-profile?
pretty sure you have that haha

On the HR bar...most street strip cars don't need it. It takes a lot of engine to overpower a properly set-up, factory (4-link) chassis. So until you get your car to plant the tires, you won't need the HR bar.

Best advise is to buy the book "Need More Bite?--Making rear coil springs launch." By Dick Miller, Year One carries it part#DMR9003, it's $12.95. Read it!

    Good Luck tuning:TU:

The HR bar doesn't come near the rear end girdle. I have the regular one. I painted it black to be less conspicuous, and so it looked good without getting grungy.

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

Mike, if you want I'll get you the p/n of the TRW springs I have in my car. I accidentally drove over an hour to Island dragway a few weeks ago with a pair of iron 455 heads in the trunk, I forgot they were in there. Couldn't tell because the back end didn't drop and it didn't hurt the ride. Fortunately a few friends were there and I got to leave them in my buddy's trailer.

I wont be getting it, i was simply curious if anyone has used it

i'll be going with the hr n stuff bar and ta no hop bar combo

my car will be the best comprimise between street and drag with some pretty nice cornering ability...so i'm not quite pro tour/prostreet...gmachine or w/e you wanna call it.

I'm just going for a nice street machine that'll handle fairly well compred to newer rwd cars that'll do 10 to 11sec in the quarter and still be streetable
adjusting the turbo psi will take care of the streetability factor.
