    ATTENTION PURE STOCKERS

I just want to give you an up date on three of own Pure Stockers / Friends who happen to live on the east coast where hurricane Sandy hit. Charlie & Chucky Lombardi, Rhode Island and Tommy OMalley, Staten Island. Chucky called me yesterday asking for Tommy OMalleys contact number, so they could try and reach him to see if he was ok, and to see if he needed any help since they were so close. I told him I was trying to reach Tommy also, but had no luck but leaving Tommy a message on his cell phone. I called Chucky back today and he informed me they were able to make contact with Tommy and his girlfriend Trisha. Chucky also told me that his Dad and him made it through the storm ok, but Tommy / Trisha lost everything where they lived in Staten Island. Well not everything, Tommy just happen to have his awesome 1970 Ford XL over a buddys house which was on higher ground, so the water wasnt able to damage the car. Chucky also told me that Tommy said that they almost didnt make it out of there. He told Chucky that the water started coming up the street and when it started getting higher and stronger, they made a decision to jump in Tommys 1976 Ford 150-XL and head for safer ground. I guess the water rouse so fast they werent able to escape with the truck. The water level stalled the engine and they had to climb out the windows and swim to safety. Tommy said the water pressure was so great they couldnt even open the doors on the truck to escape. Tommy also said that the rushing water had under currents that were unbelievable, and they almost didnt make it to safer ground. But thank God they were able too. Tommy and Trisha are staying at a family members house for now. I must say I was really worried about all of you and Im so thankful that all of you made it through this unpredicted difficult storm safe. I know a lot of families werent that lucky and my prayers and thoughts go out to all them. Ill try and keep everyone up dated as more information comes in.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Boden

It was nice to see Tommy again this year. I hope that somehow his wife and him can somehow come out of this better and stronger. I am glad to hear our friends are ok! I cant even imagine what a terrible experience it must have been.

I did talk with Tommy OMalley yesterday and their staying at Tommys sister house for right now. Things did happen like I described in my other posting. They lost everything except for the 1970 Ford XL. Tommy said it happen so fast you wouldnt of believe it. He said it was just like a tsunami. He also told me that they almost didnt make it to safer ground. He said at one moment he lost hold of Trisha and he had to swim after her to save her. So Tommy & Trisha wanted me to thank everyone for their concerns with their safety. As horrible of a situation that it was, it made them feel good that there were some true good human beings and P/S friends out there checking up on them. I personally want to thank Charlie & Chucky Lombardi for reaching out and making the first contact with Tommy & Trisha. And for their thoughtful gesture to help out in anyway if Tommy & Trisha needed it. Tommy did tell me the only good thing about this whole incident was that he just retired from work three days ago. I guess for right now their going to regroup and get a game plan together for their new future. Tommy said their not going to rebuild in Staten Island. They are even possibly thinking about relocating to another area of the country.

John Brown On permanant vacation !!

Michigan would be a great choice.

Those east coast insurance dollars could go a lot farther spent inland than it would on any coast.

What an ordeal! I'm very glad to hear that Tommy and Trisha made it through the hurricane with their health. I am sorry to hear about their loss though. Thanks for checking in on them Bob. I was thinking of all the PS guys on the east coast when the storm was bearing down on them. Who would have thought this kind of havoc would hit so far north. The main thing is all our friends are safe. I do wish Tommy and Trisha the best and if they need anything, they have my number.

I met Tommy just this year at the pure stock drags. He is a cool dude. Offered to help me when I was broken down on the return road.
I am sorry to hear about his loss...including that sweet old pick up truck. But I am very glad to hear that him and his girlfriend made it to safety.
Also glad to hear the Lombardi's are ok.
    Hope everyone can recover well.
