My 6 year old likes to work with me in the shop, so I put him to work. He made a "rocket car" and "bird". He does quite well except the hose gets a little heavy at times. If I hold the hose about one foot back from the gun he does real good.
What about child labor laws? they are enforced here in Ohio,But ya gotta take what ya can! looks to be a promising BUICK person, with good skills! Bruce
Now that's the way to teach him to weld. It will be second nature by the time he's 15. Time to hand him a sander and let him learn body work too. I see a top notch resto. shop in the future!!
Great - Is that gas or electric? Hate to be a PITA, but remember that the weld arc is like pure sun light and he can get weld burn easy....the full shield is nice but how about some gloves? Skin Cancer will kick in after he hits 30! :bglasses: Sorry - just my 2 cents. ou: Can't wait till my kids are old enough to help! :TU: - Bill
He has a hard time holding the gun and the gloves make it harder. I want to get a new helmet that is auto darkening. Fraid I can't rent him out. He is a Daddy's boy. He stayed with me this weekend rather than going to Grandma's with Ann and my 8 year old son Brian.
