It was a complete run down of the costs for the rebuild and install of a 200R4 into a Buick. Anyone remember this?

This thread mentions the 200R4 was out of a 87 Monte Carlo. Why are the bellhousing bolt patterns not a problem? The 87 Monte would have the SBC, how would this trans bolt to a Buick engine? :Do No:

The bellhousings on the 200-4R's are universal with holes to mount up to just about anything.

    Got my 200R4 today

OK, this thread got me thinking and I decided to get a 2004R4 fron the local yard this afternoon for my current 70 Skylark/GS clone resto project. Just a few questions that were not mentioned. My car was originally a
350 2bbl/TH350. I will be changing the car to a 455 cid with the 200R4 trans. The 200R4 I found is out of a 87 Monte Carlo also. What trans mount do you use for this swap? Does the crossmember need to be moved back or forward at all? My car originally had a cable going from the gas pedal to the trans. Can I use this original gas pedal set up for the TV cable or do I have to mount it to the carb?

I can't answer all your questions, but I know the TV cable hooks up to the carb. You no longer will need the cable at the gas pedal. I used my th400 trans mount and didn't have to move my crossmember, but that was for a th400. I think it's the same length as a th350, so driveshaft length will be the same. I don't know if the splines on the yolk are the same. That's my .02.
