I bumped up your other thread about the place you were planning to buy... Just wondering if you got it...
Thanks Sean! I love the input:TU: We have the place up north as soon as We sell our houseou: The market is a little sluggish at the moment so We wait. I would have got more done to the cat this week but My brothers washer fell threw His laundry room floor and I think that say it all. BIG MESS:shock::ball:Ever try and get a washing machine out of a crawl space:rant:
http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=203546&d=1310180825 Does any buddy Have a better shot of a 1966 wildcat engine compartment. I want to start painting parts an I need a reference.:TU:
Well I got the old water pump off this morning and I only broke 4 bolts:af: This I can deal with! Does any body have an exploded view of the water pump? I want to try rebuilding the pump My self and this would be a big help:TU:
No need for a pic:ball: The impeller fell apart as soon a I touched it:rant: I guess I will have to order one after all.
Rough body work is done till I get it to the paint shop.:Brow: I gave it all a coat of rattle can enamel so it can go out side wile I get the drive line together. I could still use a pic of a clean engine compartment so I know what colors to paint parts?
This will be the last time I push the cat out side:TU: Now that I said that I am sure I will have to do it againou: Time to clean out this mess I call a shop and start on the nail head. At least I can watch the race wile I clean:beers2:
I started cleaning the trans for My nailhead this afternoon and after removing 10lb of dirt I found this tag? Is it a factory tag or a re builder?
That does look like a factory tag, but I'll cede to an expert. o No: Do the five numbers on the bottom right correspond to the last numbers on your VIN? If so, then it's probably the factory tag.
The #s don,t match either cars Vin. I am thinking it is a re builders tag or the trans may have started life in another car. I will check it with the #s on the block today:TU:
Well!! That was a fun dayou: I started By laying out all the parts and then the cleaning began:eek2: I got the cross member clean and painted what a mess! The trans had about 20lb of dirt on it but it came out nice:TU: I will continue in the am :beers2:
Nice find! There is good article on a 66 Wildcat in February issue of the Buick Bugle called My Three Buicks. I used to have a 67 Buick Wildcat convertible when I was young and dumb and didn't know what I had. Its good to see them old Buicks brought back to life.:beers2:
Thanks! I have a lot of time on My hands at the moment so this keeps Me busy :beers2: Do You have a link to the article in the Bugel? I would like to read it:TU:
Thanks Bruce! I went threw all My parts today and I think the only thing I am missing is the water pump. I did find a SBB timing cover and water pump that I missed when You were here. We will have to get together again soon.
Sorry Guys no work done todayo No: We rented out a unit in our plaza and have to have it ready for the 1st. We put 28 boxes of reclaimed oak down today. I have 2 to 3 hours there tomorrow and then back to the Wildcat :TU:
Well I got the floor done at the plaza and the plumbing done at My brothers and i still managed to get a couple of parts cleaned and painted :TU: I dug out all the horns and tested them hoping to get two that worked and I have four:laugh: That should be enough to get the tree huggers in the toyotas out of My way:3gears:
I just ordered 2 cans of alpine green for the block!! It is the closest I can find in a rattle can o No: I ordered the water pump as well $90 for a new one and He says it is made in the USA:TU: http://www.plastikote.com/products/Specialty/Engine-Enamel.html
Well I got the pump and paint today and the Guy was way off on where the pump was made. I have it now and I don't have time to look for another  The paint looks good for a driver but I think it is a little lighto No:
