Bad picture as usual. 1982 Honda V45 Magna!!!!!!! This thing hauls A$$. I've been jonesing for a bike, but a good deal wasn't anywere to be found. This needs some work, but none of it is major. Needs a front tire, new handlebars (Previous owner put on funky short ones), some bodywork on the tank from the short bars hitting, a few minor leaks fixed, and thats about it. Road tests from 1982 show mid twelve second quarters!!! I don't know how or why, but I got it for $450.:jd: See you at the strip!
My buddy bought one brand new back in '81.....I was riding a '72 CB500-4. Two totally different technologies yet very close performance wise ('course, mine wasn't stock :Brow: )
I had one about 15 years back. One owner that was purchased by an older fellow. It looked like new. I rode it for 2 years and sold it. Still pissed that I did too. Mine was burgandy and was an awesome looking bike. Smooth on the hwy. Ever seen the V65?? Kinda rare now, but very strong for a cruiser bike.
how many miles? Be very careful- those things are known to have bad cams from the factory. Some of them were gone in less than 4000 miles. The good news is that if your has a lot miles on it, there is likely no problem. I had a '95 magna, and it was my favorite bike yet. The only complaint was that it didn't fit me too well- I'm 6'4" and it's kind of a small bike. I now have an ST1100- same motor technology as your bike, basically- just bigger. They run great! They'll run circles around a twin. Unfortunately, either the bike or the Buick project has to go, so I'm selling mine ASAP. Anyone want a steal on a great bike?
Mark, I sure could use a better camera. Maybe next year. I took another while it was light out. I can't wait to work on this thing! Its pert'near riding season! Steve, Its got 26K miles. Someone had to have done work to it cause ther engine is very quiet, with the exception of the crappy leaky aftermarket pipes. Pooods, A friend of mine has got a V65. What a monster! Road test of the era show nearly identical quarter mile times though.
