I got my 71 skylark as a rolling chassi i droped in the TH400 tranny and 455 motor just fine. I need help on how to hook up the shift linkage. It has a hearst shifter with a cable that runs to the shift lever. but i think theres suposed to be a back rod or something that goes through the top holes in it? i dont know it dosnt have any of that, and i need help adjusting it. o No:
Kind of hard to help in a situation like this. A Hurst shifter is aftermarket. You may have more luck contacting Hurst for an instruction sheet. In any case, here is a picture of the stock console shift linkage, maybe it will help.
