I was cleaning the diff cap from the posi rear I recently found. I clean it real good with something that looks like a shaved steel ball, and it gets off all the dirt, grit, and paint. But for some reason the numbers someone once wrote on the bare metal won't come off. It's pretty cool to think about how someone grabbed a marker and scribbled 342 some 34 years ago.
I like looking behind the seats of old cars and finding stuff. Reciepts, money, lots of crap, and other interesting tidbits. Oh, and when you clean the frame and find numbers on it, that's always cool too!
we used these crayons in the bone yards that WE called lipstick the only thing that would take it compleatly off is denatures alochohol show us the 1/2 steel balls!! SR66 :TU:
He he.. the steel balls.... They come from the 99 cent store in a package of three. The best heavy duty remover I've found so far, and they don't scratch the surface.
THANK GOD for pictures!! I was wondering ...I think those classify as heavy duty steel wool SR66 :TU:
I'm right here in tinsel town. Can see the neon Roosevelt Hotel sign up on Hollywood blvd from the kitchen window.
