I test fitted a LeSabre A/C compressor into my Wildcat brackets, and it comes up short. I have the Brackets that attaches to the engine, but there must be brackets that bolt to the A/C compressor to adapt it, and thats what I need.
Do you ever have the motor out of that car? I'm only asking because I have never seen a steel bracket on a 69'. I may have that aluminum one here if you need it. I'll check later today.
Could be its an incorrect piece. Its a combination of at least three cars and a bazillion little parts. I traded my non-A/C brackets and some other stuff to a former board member here who insisted he was sending me 1970 Big Car stuff. But the wiring he sent wasn't even close so I'm guess neither is this bracket. LMK what you have cause I need it. Also Jarrod, if you get a chance, check my question out in Sparkys Corner. If you don't know the answer off hand, you'll probably be able to look under the hood to LMK.
I'll check my parts collection here, and get back to you, if I have a lower bracket. Did you figure out your wiring problem? I haven't got over to my wildcat yet but I will.
Dan, I think I might have that piece too, if Jarrod can't find his. I'll look shortly, as I'm probalbly going to be off line for a few days. Edit: just checked the usual suspected hiding places, and I don't have this bracket. I tossed some stuff out a while back, bet it went out with that. Sorry
Jarrod, wiring problem is solved :TU: Now I just need the bracket. LMK. :beers2: Tom, thanks for checking:TU: jsgs, it seems you are correct. Thanks for the input:TU:
I'm intersested. Thats my hold up right now. Otherwise, I'm gonna need to install new O rings and see if any of the major componants have failed :idea2:
Dan I'm still parting the 69 Electra so if you dont find what you're looking for, I'm sure I can come up with the steel AC brackets you need. Doug
Here's what I have. $15 to your door. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f180/pyro_225/BuickPartsApril07002.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f180/pyro_225/BuickPartsApril07001.jpg The alternator/ac bracket connected to the block is aluminum. Other than the compressor, which BTW I have an extra :Brow: , that's all there is. Here is what mine looked like after removing only the AC compressor. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f180/pyro_225/BuickPartsMarch07045.jpg Hope it helps.
Yup, that helps. According to the other guys, the aluminum lower is all I need. But, I best take them all just in case my stuffs wrong. I'll shoot you a PM here shortly Thanks!!!!!!!!:TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU:
IIRC you said you had a compressor from a Lesabre? Wasn't that a small block car? Maybe the compressor's are different o No: ... Food for thought. Doug
Dan, If Doug is offering you the lower aluminum bracket #1231871 for $15....jump on it. I paid $50 for the one I just got from a fellow board member a little over a month ago....with a broken bolt in it. I was/will be looking to get my money back.
I though I was getting both the steel upper and the aluminum lower bracket, but I only received the steel upper, which is identical to mine. I PMed Pyro, (No fault of his, my communication may not have been specific as I re-read)but in the meantime I'm still either in need of this aluminum lower, or I need advice. Something said previously is still sticking in my head. My used A/C compressor is off a 70 LeSabre. Could there be a smaller compressor on LeSabres as opposed to Wildcats and Electra's? I'd hate to seek out this bracket only to find it still don't fit.
