Rebuilding one of my 70 GS stage 1 Qjets last night and one of the 42B Primary metering rod tips is bent on the jet bottom end.Tried to straighten it but it is not perfect.
Where does one go to buy new Primary metering rods?
Or are they made by anyone?
    Let me know
    Thanks

There is a possibility that the rod is used in another GM product carb. As I recall, the 42 refers to the starting diameter of the rod, and the B refers to the taper shape, whether fast or slow. It is very likely that the same rod is used in another carb. I do not recommend straightening the rod, regardless of the success, since the rod will likely either stick in the jet, or break off, causing other problems. The Carb shop, or other supplier of rebuilt carbs, or parts may have what you seek. I have used the Carb shop frequently, and they had what I needed. Too frequently, I have met with silence on the other end when asking about carb pieces, but the carb shop typically understands the problem, and has a solution. Edlebrock may have what you seek as well. Ray
