stole all the gas (40 gallons!) out of my truck i think they might be haveing a talk with god and i will be setting up the meeting! why do people do these kind of things!!!!!! ive been haveing trouble getting my truck to run and i was thinking that it might be haveing fuel problems so i filled both tanks up and parked it for the week. when this weekend rolled around and i had the time to try and fix it i found that i had no fuel pressure. the pump was the original and had always had low pressure but the truck still ran fine untill recently. it had no fuel pressure all of the sudden so i bought a new pump after i thought that i had found the problem (bad pump) nope you need gas in your tanks for the pump to make pressure. so after i installed the new pump i still had no pressure. so i started checking every thing else. well to make a long story short at the end of the day i was down to just the hoses comeing from the tanks and they both werent pumping out any fuel. so i was thinking how do all three pumps go bad in the same week? they dont! well i then thought that there must be a blockage in the lines so i was blowing air back through the output lines and didnt hear any bubbles in the tank. so i took my mighty vac and a big long hose and tried to suck out some gas. well there was just enough to fill that litte bottle they give you with the mighty vac. so i bought a $100 fuel pump because some a$$ stole all of my gas :blast: ! and to top it all off i still cant get my truck to run. thanks for listening i had to get that off my chest before it came out sideways on someone who doesnt deserve it.

Several years ago I had the same thing happen to me, except I had an additional twist! They cut my garden hose to use a piece as the siphon hose! They got a full tank of gas (1970 Caddy Fleetwood) and destroyed my garden hose at the same time! Just think about how many trips they had to make to my house to steal all that gas! If only I'd caught them...what fun I could have had!

Now, everything in my driveway has a locking gas cap

While this is sad.....with the rising cost of Gas its sure to happen more frequently

.....reminds me of the mid-70's fuel shortages where everyone ran out and bought a locking Gas Cap :af:

That sucks! Lowlife losers! I'd never ever suggest doing something like that, but sitting here thinking about it from a totally criminal stand point it makes no sense. So they managed to grab 40 gallons off of one guy. If you live close enough to an apartment building or a company that has lax security you could hit up 30 cars for a half gallon each every week. Nobody would ever notice, and you'd be cruising free and clear. Not that I'm saying that doesn't make you a scumbag, but it is smarter.

not a locking gas cap but a 12 gauge!!!

Hey just to let you know! A locking gas cap ( like all locks) only keeps honest people honest! I had one that screwed up and the key wouldn't work anymore so I just lightly tapped in a flat screwdriver and gave it a twist!!!
I had a problem with someone stealing my gas too, and made a real mess of my driveway too, so I got really pissed off and siliconed razor blades to the gas cap and then spread "bearing blue" ( thats like blue paint that never dries) over the razor blades and watched for some idiot with blue lips and bandaged fingers!!! I figured the first thing they would do is put there fingers in there mouth after the razor blades did there work!! Sort of lets you know who to punch out!!!
A note of caution though!!! Don't fill up at a full serve gas station and remember its there yourself!!!
Hey us Canadians aren't ALL passive!!!!! :blast: :pp

When I had my samurai, I had a locking gas cap on it. Someone forced a screw through it to get it off... At least they put the cap back on after they took the gas...

I guess it's time to dig out my locking cap again. I used it during high school to keep the unwanted away from my gas tank after hearing a few rumors about certain people. Nobody's getting a full tank of premium off of me without getting hurt.

around here unless you park your car in your garage, it must be a secure garage with no window entry, its best to have an alarm on your car. It got so bad that i had to put a $200 alarm on a $600 car before, and that was in a very good neighborhood full of mostly elderly couples and families with very young children. It sucks that they stole your gas but the bright side is they left the truck.
Once my camaro got broken into and the guy stole my tapedeck, which barely worked, he didnt bother to take the wire harness for it or to look at the 2 amplifiers laying on the floorboard, which were worth a lot more then a cassette player. They werent even installed all he had to do was pick em up and run, but no he really loved that 10 year old deck.
About a week later i heard a window break and seen a guy in the neighbors car, so i chase after him and get a decent look at his face, he is like mid to late 30's, and he is out stealing stereo's, probably a crackhead, but he beat me in a foot race so he was a quick one.

I noticed a few times that the door to the petrol tank, on my daily driver Euro box, was open in the morning.

But since my car runs on LPG, I never have more than 1 gallon of petrol in my tank, this smart thief just never noticed the LPG filling nipple on the back of the car.....

I had a customer with an Astro van that really got screwed. The van had a locking fuel door. Some one pried open the door and ruined it only to find a locking gas cap. They proceeded to get under the car and cut the filler hoses and then took his gas. Van was in his car port in a nice town house development. All this when gas was about $1.35.

Curt, Does your gas guage work? :pp
Let me tell you guys what my grand father did when I was a kid.
Three weekends in a row some one stole the gas from his service truck. From the 5 gal. gas can. He went to town and got some more and came home and told us boys, " dont use any of the gas in the can" Sure enough Sat night the gas disappeared. Pappy said, 'now we are gonna find out who stole the gas'. Monday morning the guy 4 houses down was in the shop looking for a new engine. It seemed that the pint of ether Pappy put in the gas can with the gas took that chevy 6 apart. The crank was down in the oil pan. :Brow:

Seems like it'd be worth it to get a decent looking junkyard car (so it'd look like something you were driving), bring it home with a full(er) tank of gas (plus the ether mentioned above) and leave it in the driveway without a locking cap.

Just for the satisfaction of screwing with them...... :blast:
