The thought that any idea or opinion that goes against what the FAST guys want the public to percieve gets a BAN is hilarious to me!!!! It must be getting to you guys if you act that way about it instead of having discussion. When you can't come up with an intelligent response just ban the poster.
Gonzo I am surprised at you but when your strings are being pulled by others, for their gain not yours, it really is no surprise. I really thought you were a free thinker and a savvy promoter. Careful who align yourself with if you want continued coverage and support for your events, bad press is worse than no press when it comes to future coverage.
The Year One ban was a long time coming considering who the moderator is and how he likes to wield power or imagined power.

please tell me this has nothing to do with my joke about Wayne getting banned if he cleans up at the Hemmings race...........

No, not because of you Donny. There are a lot of people in this hobby that can go back and forth about issues and be mature and intelligent about it. You are one of those. There are others who can't be mature or intelligent and they would rather shut some one up than have to think about a response to a comment or statement that differs from their own opinion.
Those people I would call self serving cowards. Don't be fooled when they say they are interested in the good of the group, the reality is they are interested in the promotion of themselves, as is evident in the slanted coverage a few recieve as opposed to the whole.

being #2 just isn't good enough!

I really used to enjoy getting into these bulletin board scuffle's, but anymore
I just don't have the time or energy.
If you take every F.A.S.T., Stock Appearing, and Pure Stock Musclecar, and
add them all together, we are a very small gnat on the butt of an Elephant
    in the Drag Racing world.
We all say we want to see growth, yet it seem's we are alway's going in the
wrong direction, going out of our way to BAN car's, or not let someone build
a certain type of car due to low production when new, or that it was built
with factory lightweight part's as a factory built racecar.
WHO CARE'S, if someone want's to build something, a NEW car to ADD to the
car count at one of these event's,LET THEM!
It still amazes we at how far we go out of our way to NOT let people bring
car's to these event's :Dou: :Dou: :Dou: :Dou: :Dou: :Dou: :Dou:

Keith, I don't know where you were going with this post, or what you were
trying to say, but I think I know?

If I were to start my own event, I know for certain that I wouldn't Fiddle-
fart around with the rule's from a pre-established race class, and I sure as
    hell wouldn't start messing with long-time well known(and respected)racers,
forcing them to run in the wrong class :Dou: That kind of new's travel's fast
and could cause a group to boycott an event :Do No:

I agree Tom.........That's why the rules to my race are so liberal.........I'm all about having fun racing my Musclecars against other similar looking Musclecars.........and I thought that's what Musclecar owners who actually race their cars were all about too................. :Do No:

Keith, talk about pulled strings !! hah. If your not a mouthpiece for the other F.A.S.T. envious lunatic ..... I don't know who is!! :spank:

Listen I don't know you, you might be a great guy....But when you came on my site and tried to stir the same old pot as you have been for the last 3 years, I don't need it. I have an event where everyone gets along just great, I don't care about your personal vendetta against F.A.S.T. or anybody elses. :moonu:

    -----------------------
And for the other old farts who can't read apparently, and also would like to stir some nonsense up...listen carefully :Do No: :Dou:

The NAME of my event is Stock Appearing Drags :Smarty:

The classes are F.A.S.T. and Factory Stock.....is that clear???

The rules are the SAME as the F.A.S.T. rules for that class

The rules for Factory Stock are not the same as the Pure Stock Drags, so get over it. Although anyone with a truly "Stock" muscle car would easily fit in at either race. :beer

So please go work on your car or do something important will ya, like you said there are more things to worry about, then whether someone elses event rules are not EXACTLY to your liking. Geez

I could care less about popularity or whose event has more cars or magazine coverage. I care even less about egos. As has been mentioned I don't race stock classes because I choose not to.
What chaps my ass is when a guy and his son step up to a challenge, spend a whole pile of money and time to build and test a car to compete at an event and when the car is faster than the powers that be they give him so much trouble for every little thing he does that it ruins the fun for them. That happened because egos got in the way.
I pointed out on Gonzo's site that YO is pursuing other racing venues, getting a larger car count and higher spectator numbers makes sense when you spending money to get your product to market and that stickers are now legal in FAST when they were previously illegal. The Iron's car was scrutinized for stickers at the Mopar Nats and the YO Bash in Atlanta. I guess I should be banned for having discussion on a discussion page :Do No:
I have always applauded Gonzo for his events, he has a great car count and the fans dig it. I have criticized his politics and questioned his motives. I will tell you again Gonzo, the FAST guys need you more than you need them. As it looks right now they have 1 stand alone event in Martin, Michigan. All the others "official" events are piggy backed with some one else's. I am certain that you were "directed" to shut me up on your site as I was shut up on the YO site. The only 2 sites that the FAST thugs are in total control of.
If you ever looked at any of my posts about FAST they were replys to other peoples comments on the group or their practices. It must be a nice world they live in when they are never contradicted or corrected. I have read flat out lies posted by them and replied as such. It happens all the time in the "real" world. It's called checks and balances, if someone is watching people tend to be more truthful.
"Three years..."?? I never looked at a FAST post until the Iron's family was banned and that was about 16 months ago (just another correction so people don't get misinformation).
I would ask any of you to take a look (if you even care) at any of my posts on Gonzo's site, YO or Moparts and you tell me if I have ever lied or deliberately given misinformation. I know a few industry insiders who watch things pretty closely to gage public opinion and it isn't good these days. You are talking about a very small group of people who are very geographically limited as far as the "big picture" is concerned. It would sure help the cause if some of the attention hounds stepped aside and let the other competitors share some of the spot light. That will never happen as long as people like to have a "score" or 70 magazine articles about them to brag about (ego). Just a tip from some of the insiders.

    Keith:
    Here's my Politics: I'm a Republican
Here's my Motive: I want people who sit around and type all day to quit the petty nonsense and come out and have some fun. I take NO money from any of my events.

I have gotten more crap from people trying to stop me from having an event then I could ever imagine. I have gotten it from all sides and all factions. You can't do this, you can't say that, you can't use this name. you can't mention that, why aren't you more like us?, why don't you do things differently?

Through all of that I have tried to present a good event for the average muscle car enthusiast, not any psycho-bent super competitive driven ego maniacs. I am nobody's anything, I do my own thing.

As far as my signature goes....... I don't have to have the fastest car, I don't have to get the most magazine coverage, I don't claim to know any more than anyone of you. I am here to provide an event EVERYONE enjoys. But I will not let a few bad apples ruin a bunch of good ones when the conversation turns to my events, so most times I'll speak up. even if it pains me to know I am entering the 3 ring circus of stupidity.

No matter how much sense you can make to someone:
You can't make everyone happy, some people lives are not fulfilled unless they are complaining about something. Your gripe Keith with F.A.S.T. is over, your not even racing in any of these events, so whats the point, in being another guys mouthpiece?? Jack had issues with the F.A.S.T. guys, so what??? I got no problems with you or Jack, unless you knuckleheads continue to try and call Englishtown and complain about the rules while my events are taking place. Or if you think you are going to show up and start trouble, then I'll have you bodily thrown out. But lets talk reality for a minute: Move on, its over, get a life and tackle more important subjects. Have some fun with your car, make it go faster, I don't know....get a new hobby. or start contributing positively to this one!

    Thank God for the Republicans!!!
    I meant your racing politics.
The issue I had with safety at your event was that people were planning on going 10's and the statements were that "if the car passes a quicky tech amongst a feild full of Stock Appearing cars, it must be NHRA legal". Do the tech people know the cars will go that fast? They do now. Good thing Dave didn't put that Challenger into the wall or on it's roof when the motor let go!!!! I have seen it happen, twice just last season. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!!!!
Nobody ever questioned your event or class rules, as I said earlier, your events are a success and could be a model for other events. I did notice that you made it a point to mention safety on your site after that event.
As far as my hobby goes, I am quite happy with my cars and intend to keep being happy racing and restoring as I do. None of this stuff deters me from what I want to do.
I havn't seen anyone attack you or drag your event through the mud on your site any others for that matter.
Nobody wanted to come to your event and cause trouble. 2 individual magazines were interested in a shoot out between Wayne and Jack that had nothing to do with FAST or your event but when they got wind of your emails they backed out. Like I said the opinion in the industry is not that favorable.
Oh and I'm not here all day just typing, I am using this computer to make and track money and just happen to have the browser open while I'm at it :Brow:

    OK Keith its all good

I have no idea what you are talking about here :Do No: I talk regularly to both magazine editors now and at the event and they never mentioned anything like that :puzzled:

Please enough, forget Jack, get yourself a new hobby. I hope at least he has you on a good salary over there.

If that's true, then why hasn't Wayne Nelson (his car is "faster than the powers that be") had the same trouble you speak of??? If Jack would have had a car that was 100% legal and could have controlled his anger, there wouldn't have been any problems......... :Do No: ........just like Wayne Nelson hasn't experienced any problems...... :TU:

After all the hub bub after banning Jack how would it have looked to ban Wayne? Have you forgotton the debate over a Corvette being a musclecar? That started in the FAST camp.
The thing is now nobody has anything for Wayne, and he is probably going to go faster!!!!

  19. Big Squeeze

    Big Squeeze Pimpetious Pimp Daddy

There's no reason to ban Wayne.......His car is 100% legal.......

So, you're saying that there's a Fab 4 consipracy to keep out cars that are quicker than thier own? :Dou: Come on..............You can't believe that............

I do remember the debate you're talking about, although I'm not 100% certain it started over there............The point is, Wayne is still running his car and there's been nothing done to stop him.........His car runs great, it's 100% legal, and he's a super nice guy, why would they not want him? I think he's been good for this type of racing...........

I'm not saying that I agree 100% with all of the F.A.S.T. rules (not even all of the rule makers like all of the rules), but, if someone wants to run with them, they're going to have to go by thier rules.

Here's an idea............Get Jack to loan you his drivetrain to go into your car (I bet you could do it in a weekend) and then bring it to a F.A.S.T. race, LAY THE SMACK DOWN with it, and see what happens.........If it's all legal, I bet there won't be a problem.......... :TU: Or, better yet, loan it to me to put into my '68 Roadrunner..........
