I am currently building my first engine for my 67 Skylark. It is a 340, and it is the first time I have done this. I was looking for some info or a place to visit on the web that can tell me how to set the timing in my engine when I put it back in the car in a few weeks. Any help would be great as I am clueless to this. Thanks.:Do No:

    Ron,
First thing you need is a good timing light. Sears makes some really good ones that are reasonably priced. Get the one with the dial on the back. The instructions that come with the light are very good and will answer most if not all of your questions. Buick motors like about 12* initial timing and 32* or so of total timing, all in by 2500 RPM. If you run "ignition timing" into a search engine on the web, you'll get more information than you need. Good luck.
