I had the block bagged and shop has a dehumidifier , but with camera flash I can see I need to scrub down outside of block , get 'er painted then oil down the rest of it .
    It never sleeps .

Checked out some Molnar rods this morning .
    Specs seem ok .
    Feedback - good , bad , ugly ?
    Marked down $100 .
    Sent them an email .
Scat maybe ? ( Nope , looks like BBB and V6 only )

    good , thanks .
still got feelers out for a couple oem rods but no dice yet . oem would be my cheapest route especially since i have the rods prepped already . and they'd be good enough for my power level .
yeah those molnar rods look real decent , info looks good . supposed to be oem spec compatible .

No luck on used rods so ---
Email'd Molnar yesterday . They just had some blanks come in . Told them to put me on the list and let me know if they needed payment etc .
Nope . On the list , they will contact me when ready , then send me PayPal invoice . If I change my mind by then can cancel .
Contacted a couple people on that end , everyone seems real nice . Pretty quick info back , all seem to be pretty straight up .
Just an FYI for ya .

Can they custom make the length to change compression height for you? You can dial your compression in exactly without extra decking or machine work.

Good question , I would guess that they might but not sure . It sounds like they order blanks then machine etc . Probably depends on the supplier . But I've seen blanks with extra material on small end to adjust length so maybe that's how it happens .
I'll try to get info next time I talk to them .
If you search "Molnar rods" it'll pop right up . The info might be there .

checked on rod order yesterday , i'm in line . couldn't give me an ETA yet .
that would be a "no" on the rod length question . oem spec only . he made it sound like it would be a whole different setup and process = more money .
