A friend sent me this pic of a car sitting out at his parents' farm. I can tell that it is a Limited, I'm guessing it's around an 84-85, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell anything else. Specifically I'm wondering if those wheels might allude to any package that might designate a V8 drivetrain.

cornering lights are good:)It looks like a well optioned regal, maybe a hot air car?

miss match taillights, dont see many with those opera lights, gotta think with the moonroof it was 85-87

    85 or earlier since no 3rd brake-light

The rear quarter and trunk emblems are mid-80's style, as is the trim-plate over the glove box (from what I can make out, it's the black center with wood trim).

From what Dan says about the moon-roof date range, it should be an '85 then.

its an 81-83 with those tail lights. the wheels were just an option on the regal dont mean a thing except someone spent a few bux when they bought the car. OH and if its for sale and rust free let me know been looking for a rust free body with a factory sunroof for a transplant for quite some time now.

    Thanks,

    Shawn,
Look closely, like Dan said, tail-lights are different right and left (late model right, earlier left). Not '81-'83 from the glove box cover area (black w/wood).

I'd grab all the vinyl top trim, and clips off of it
then strip that thing bare for parts!

If it were cheap enough id buy it just to cut the roof OFF and add to a nice southern body, theyre hard to find with the factory roof.

Well depending on the condition, a friend of mine might be buying it, or if not, I want a sunroof for mine, lol. But we'll see what happens.

If nothing else, Jeff, do you know if the vinyl top trim would be the same on a '79? Because I plan on removing all of that from my car, and if you've got the correct driprail molding for a bare top car to trade, that would be even better.

I doubt if '79 is the same
I don't have any bare top drip rail moldings for a '79 either :(

I don't even know myself, I'm waiting for Lepa to get more info on the car and get ahold of the owner to see if it's for sale. He goes by 72PolaraCustom on the local boards.
