I'm contemplating a tuneable throttle body EFI kit for my BBB. Are these kits better suited to a single plane or dual plane intake. This engine never turns north of 55-5800 rpm.

Well, I single plane will always have better fuel distribution, but if your only turning a max of 5800 rpm then you will likely want the better low end drivability of a duel plane .
With over 425 cid I would pick a aftermarket duel plane due to there better fuel balance per runner and somewhat better air flow numbers.

My daily driver 455 with a TA-212 cam and B4B intake is running great with the Holley Sniper EFI
