I have one I want to refinish for my 70 GS. It has a plastic covering that is shot. Would that "dip it" stufff you apply to plier handles work for this? Im not sure because of the heat under the hood. Im thinking it would get soft.
Jason, I have used the plastic dip brand in had no issues with the heat. They were actually dipped in black rubber and painted red. Avoid the temptation to use red plastic dip which actaully may look better.
