    Hello everyone
I am looking for help with restoring my 70 GS interior. When I bought the car somebody had installed a black interior from a 71 GS. I want to get the car back to the original Sandalwood color. There are numerous parts of the interior that need to be either bought new or painted Sandalwood. I am looking for help identifying the colors associated with the parts. I contacted Legendary Interiors and they were able to help me with some of them, so I need help with the rest. Here is the list and what I know from Legendary:
    Headliner - Sandalwood
    Package tray - Sandalwood
    Rear speaker cover - ?????
    Rear defroster grill - ?????
    Headliner trim - ?????
    Seat covers - Sandalwood
Dash pad - ????? (they said some cars could have had Sandalwood and some other colors like Saddle)
    Roof Window pillars - ?????
Upper dash by Windshield - ????? (interior colors page says this is Flat paint?)
Lower dash - ????? (interior colors page says this is gloss paint?)
Carpet - Legendary says this is called "dark gold" which is their equivalent to Dark Sandalwood
    Kick Panels - ?????
Door panels and rear quarter panels - Sandalwood
    Armrests - Sandalwood
    Steering column - ?????
    Sun Visors - Sandalwood
    Rear sail panels - Sandalwood
    Door wind lace - Sandalwood
    8 track housing - ????? (currently black)
Seat belts - ????? (my build sheet says this car ordered with custom belts so I assume these are sandalwood?)
Floor mats - ????? (build sheet says custom - does that mean special color or special design?)
    Rear view mirror ?????
    Steering wheel - ?????

If people can chime in and fill in the question marks or even look at what I know to be true and verify it that would be a great help.
    Thanks to all.

I feel your pain on this one. My 69 is the Custom and had different shades of "Sandlewood" so I will be very interested in any replies you get. I ordered the complete interior package from Legendary and it is in process. Paint on the metal and plastic interior will be a challenge. The parts I have are original paint but now 50 yrs old. The carpet has darkened and the plastic is brittle. Legendary sent the dark gold carpet but I'm still not sure it is the 'correct' original color. Since I'm not trying to be perfect on originality, I will go for just being close enough. I really believe that even at the factory they had different shades of color and as they got in new batches of paint, there would be a noticeable difference. That goes for fabric and vinyl too. My expectation is to make the colors match with each other and call it a day. If you get detailed info from someone, my expectation will be exceeded :D Does anyone have pictures of this interior? I'll be lucky to re-use my dash pad.

I'm not sure if mine is completely correct, but here goes. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Roof Window pillars - ????? Mine are light sandalwood
Upper dash by Windshield - ????? (interior colors page says this is Flat paint?) Mine is dark sandalwood
Lower dash - ????? (interior colors page says this is gloss paint?) Mine is dark sandalwood
Kick Panels - ????? Mine (non-A/C) are dark sandalwood
Steering column - ????? Mine is dark sandalwood
Seat belts - ????? (my build sheet says this car ordered with custom belts so I assume these are sandalwood?) Mine are black
Floor mats - ????? (build sheet says custom - does that mean special color or special design?) I can only describe mine as dingy brown
Rear view mirror ????? Mine is chrome/polished
Steering wheel - ????? Mine is dark sandalwood

My car came with a standard interior. I had to change it to the deluxe style because when I was doing it no one reproduced the standard interior. My arm rests are incorrect. My headliner is incorrect because of a lack of knowledge and a Year One salesperson with even less at the time I was ordering it (early/mid-80's). Correct color, but wrong style.
As far as gloss or flat, I used lacquer paint. Tells you how long ago it was done. So if I needed a more glossier look, it just took a little polish and elbow grease.
